Farm Camp is on a small, organic farm in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, five miles from Portland. The historic farm house, barn, and 25 acres are owned by the Eastman family. Peter and his son John are managing the Cape Elizabeth gem as a community resource. In 2009, they placed the property with the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust under a conservation easement.  

 

Also at Turkey Hill Farm is Cultivating Community, a Portland based non-profit whose mission is to feed our hungry, empower youth and model sustainable farming.

 

This summer, Farm Camp’s Director Kevin Brewster and Cultivating Community are proud to introduce Farm Trek, a week of adventures for children ages 9-12.

 

 

Hours & Pricing

• Hours
  • Farm Camp is open from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. After care is available until 5:00 — the price is $6/hr
• Programs
  • Our 2-day program is on Tuesday and Thursday  — $110
  • Our 3-day program is on Monday, Wednesday & Friday — $160
  • Our full week program is Monday through Friday — $225.
  • The Junior Counselor Volunteer Program is free for ages 13 to 16.
• Refunds
  • Payment is required at the time of registration.
  • Full refunds for cancellations require 30 days notice and include a $25 administrative fee.
  • Cancellations with 2 weeks notice will receive a 50% refund.
  • No refunds will be given with less than a 2 weeks notice.
• Junior counselor program

Farm Trek (ages 9-12)

A week of adventures geared for older kids, led by veteran teacher and Farm Camp co-director, Kevin Brewster, as well as a female counselor. In partnership with Cultivating Community. $295 per week

Monday and Tuesday: hands-on organic farming, group challenge games and habitat exploration at Turkey Hill Farm.

 

Wednesday: embark on a field trip to a different Maine Farm and/or outdoor destination

 

Thursday: care for livestock and camp overnight at The Morris Farm in Wiscasset, home to pigs, poultry, cows and horses and 70 acres of gardens, pastures and hiking trails. We will provide transportation and food for the overnight trip and gear (as needed).

 

Friday: culminate the week's experience at THF.
